The ministry of Youth and Sports have inaugurated sub-committees to take charge of specific activities for Ghana’s preparations in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth games.
Twenty five (25) individuals were drawn from the various associations and government and the media to administer roles in areas of finance, publicity and technical advisory amongst others.
Leader of Ghana's team Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah said "It is going to be a difficult job but I want to assure that it would be very well executed." Ghana would be participating in athletics, boxing, weight lifting, Judo, table tennis, para sports, badminton, swimming, Cycling and Shooting.
Mr. Nunoo Mensah added " We are hoping that this would be Ghana's best participation in any commonwealth games of all time."
Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Mr. Joseph Yamin also pledged governments unflinching support for the Olympic Team. the minister said"the support is what we are witnessing now, at least for the first time we are talking about committee for the games set up as early as five (5) Months before the competition."
